Taiwan Culture Exhibition Corner
I was asked to design and aquire objects for a permanent Taiwanese Culture Exhibition Corner at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague. The objects were accommodated into a custom designed wooden shelf, where waiting visitors can study them and learn a bit about Taiwans culture while waiting for their visas, etc.
In an attempt to represent as many subcultures as possible, the following objects were chosen:
○ Traditional (female) had wear of the indigenous Paiwan ethnic group
○ Ang-ku-kuei Red Turtle cakes & molds
○ Taiwanese Literature
○ A puppet used in Pò͘-tē-hì - the Taiwanese puppet theatre, made famous by Li Tien-lu
○ An original decorative majolica tile from the 1930s
○ Kinmen Kaoliang, a liquor made from sorghum on the Kinmen islands
○ A wafer used for making semiconductors
○ Taiwanese Tea leaves & tea ceramics
○ Ye-hu, a traditional instrument made from a coconut shell
○ Taiwan Beer, founded in 1915 as Takasago Beer
